Hyundai Motor's auto sales up 19 pct in May

Hyundai Motor Co., the country's largest automaker, said Tuesday that its sales rose 19 percent on-year in May on the back of strong overseas demand.

The automaker sold 298,036 vehicles in May. Its domestic sales dropped 22.7 percent to 49,228 units, but exports jumped 33.3 percent to 248,808 from the same period last year, according to the company.//Yonhap
