[제이정’s 이슈 영어 회화] Beethoven (베토벤)

Yumi: The other day, my son's music teacher called me for the first time.
Mario: He or she?
Yumi: I don't know why that's important. But anyway, it's a male teacher. He said that my son is musically talented.
Mario: You should start giving him various music lessons. Who knows, your son might become the next Beethoven!


Yumi: 며칠 전에, 우리아들 음악선생님이 나한테 처음으로 전화하셨더라고.
Mario: 남자, 여자?
Yumi: 그게 왜 중요한지 모르겠으나. 어쨌든 남자 선생님이셔. 우리 아들이 음악적 재능이 있대.
Mario: 다양한 음악 레슨 시켜줘 봐. 너네 아들이 제2의 베토벤이 될지 누가 알아!



"남자야 여자야?" 이거 참 많이 묻는 질문이죠? 물론 "Is it a man or a woman?" 이라고 묻기도 하지만, "Is it a 'he' or a 'she'? 라는 표현을 사용하기도 합니다.

제2의 '누구'는
ㅡ> the next '누구' 라 합니다.
Ex) I wanna be the next Jisung Park. (나는 제2의 박지성이 되고싶어.)

She's gonna be the next Madonna. (그녀는 제2의 마돈나가 될거야.)
