Ann: Many of my friends take selfies all the time.
Na-yoon: What are selfies?
Ann: You know, a photograph that one takes of oneself.
Na-yoon: Oh~ In Korea, we call it 'sel-ca'!


Ann: 꽤 많은 내 친구들이 selfies 를 항상 찍어.
Na-yoon: Selfies가 뭐야?
Ann: 있잖아, 자기가 자기사진 찍는 거.
Na-yoon: 아~ 한국에서는 '셀카'라고 해!


'selfies' (셀카)에 대한 여러 사람들의 의견을 검색하다 보니 다양한 코멘트가 있더라구요.

Selfies is a kind of expression where you try to capture your best pose so that it is appreciated well by others.
(셀카는 나의 최고의 상태를 포착하여 타인에게 높이 평가 받을 수 있는 표현이에요.)

I am not against it but sometimes when someone tries to capture moments through selfie instead of enjoying that moment, then it is disturbing.
(반대하지는 않지만 가끔 누군가 어떤 순간을 즐기기에 앞서 그 순간을 셀카로 남기는 것에만 집중 할 때에는, 신경쓰여요.)
