[제이정’s 이슈 영어 회화] Speech Preparation (연설/발표 준비)

Peter: My name is Peter Gabison and I’m one of the speakers for the conference coming up this week. My assistant called in sick today so I'm calling the center myself to ask about my schedule. Could you help me?
Employee: Sure. You are scheduled to speak after lunch at 1pm. And also, you have a Q&A session with the audience at 4.
Peter: I see. What's the room number?
Employee: Your speech at 1 pm will be in room 102 and the Q&A session will be held in room 302.


Peter: 제 이름은 Peter Gabison이고 이번 주 conference의 연설자 중 한 명입니다. 제 비서가 오늘 아파서 못 온다고 연락이 왔어요. 그래서 제 스케줄에 대해 여쭤보려고 이 센터에 제가 직접 전화를 했어요. 좀 도와주시겠어요?
Employee: 물론이죠. Gabison씨의 연설은 점심 이후 1시에 잡혀있습니다. 그리고 4시에는 청중과의 질의응답 시간이 있습니다.
Peter: 그렇군요. 방 호수 가 어떻게 되지요?
Employee: 1시에 있는 연설은 102호이고, 질의응답 세션은 302호입니다.


‘to call in sick’ ‘병가를 내다’ 라는 표현입니다.

ex) "I have a bad cold so I called in sick." (감기가 너무 심해서 병가 냈어.)
ex) I should call in sick since it's contagious.
(전염될 수 있다니까 병가를 내야 할 것 같아요.)
