아주경제 이수완 기자 = 중국 텐센트가 인기 모바일게임 '클래시 오브 클랜'을 내놓은 핀란드 모바일게임 제작업체 슈퍼셀 인수 합의에 근접했다고 월스트리트저널(WSJ)이 15일(현지시간) 보도했다.

텐센트는 일본 이통통신업체 소프트뱅크의 슈퍼셀 지분 인수 관련 막판 협상 중이다. WSJ는 관련 소식통을 인용해 인수가는 1년전에 비해 70%나 상승한 최소 90억달러(약 10조5570억원) 이상이 될 것으로 보도했다. 최종 합의는 이르면 다음 주 안에 발표될 전망이다.

소프트뱅크는 2013년 슈퍼셀의 지분 51%를 15억3000만달러에 매입한데 이어 작년 추가 지분을 사들여 총 지분율을 73%로 증가시켰다. 하지만 막대한 부채 규모를 줄이기 위해 1년 만에 슈퍼셀 매각에 나섰다. 

이번 인수가 성사되면 세계 게임업계에서 텐센트의 선두주자 위치가 더욱 공고해질 전망이다





최종 합의는 이르면 다음 주 안에 발표될 전망이다.

TCEHY 2.93 % is nearing a deal to buy Supercell Oy that values the Finnish mobile-games maker at more than $9 billion, said people familiar with the matter, a move that could thrust the Chinese internet giant atop the fast-growing and lucrative mobile-games industry.

Tencent is in late-stage talks with SoftBank Group Corp. 9984 0.44 % to buy the Japanese telecommunications firm’s majority stake in Supercell, maker of the popular “Clash of Clans” mobile game, the people familiar with the situation said. The Chinese company is in discussions with several financial investors, including Beijing-based Hillhouse Capital Group, to join in the purchase as co-investors, the people said.

The deal’s value was unclear, but people familiar with the situation said the company would be worth more than $9 billion—a more than 70% leap from a year earlier.
