[제이정’s 이슈 영어 회화] Restaurant Reservation (레스토랑 예약)

Restaurant employee: Welcome to Jackie’s Seafood. Have you booked a table, sir?
Customer: Yes. I made a reservation for five. I think it's under John Kim.
Restaurant Employee: Oh, here it is. Please come this way.
Customer: Okay. My friends will arrive soon, too.


Restaurant employee: Jackie’s Seafood 에 오신걸 환영합니다. 예약하셨나요, 손님?
Customer: 네. 다섯 명 예약했어요. John Kim으로 예약되어 있을 거에요.
Restaurant employee: 아, 여기 있네요. 이쪽으로 오시죠.
Customer: 네. 제 친구들도 곧 도착할거에요.



"(몇 명) 예약했어요." 라고 할 때에는 "I made a reservation FOR (몇 명)."

"(예약자 이름)으로 예약했어요" 는 "I made a reservation UNDER (예약자 이름)" 이라 말하면 되겠습니다.

appointment 와 reservation 이 헷갈릴 때가 있는데 appointment는 '업무관련 예약' 이라 생각하시면 구분이 쉽겠습니다. 변호사 사무실을 방문한다든지, 병원약속, 회의약속을 얘기 할 때에는 reservation말고!!!!! appointment 를 사용하시면 되겠습니다.
