[제이정’s 이슈 영어 회화] The Pyeongchang Trout Festival (평창 송어축제)

Minsoo: I went to the Pyeongchang Trout Festival last year and it was really fun.
Brian: I've never heard of it. Tell me more!
Minsoo: There were a lot of fun activities like ice fishing and all kinds of games.
Brian: Do you get to eat what you catch?


Minsoo: 나 작년에 평창송어축제 갔었는데 엄청 재미있었어.
Brian: 처음 들어봐. 더 얘기해 줘!
Minsoo: 얼음낚시랑 다양한 게임들을 비롯해서 재미있는 이벤트들이 되게 많아.
Brian: 잡은 거 먹을 수도 있나?


평창송어축제가 2017년 12월22일부터 2018년 2월25일까지 계속된대요^^

위 대화에서 Brian이 "Do you get to eat what you catch?" 라 물어보는데, 'get to'는 'can'과 어감이 조금 다를 수 있습니다. 'can~' 은 '~할 수 있다' 'get to~'는 '~을 하는 게 허락되다' 의 의미입니다.

Ex) Can I sit here? (저 여기 앉아도 될까요?)
Do I get to take ask questions if I go? (제가 만일 간다면 질문하는 것이 허락되나요?)
어감이 살짝 다르죠~?^^
